The Royal Society’s ISPF International Collaborations Enhancement Grant has been awarded to boost our #NanoSolarPureWater Project

Great research doesn’t stop at the laboratory door-it flows where it is needed most. We are thrilled to announce an Enhancement Award that will significantly strengthen our ongoing ISPF International Collaborations Award project. This new phase of support focuses on bridging the gap between cutting-edge nanomaterials science and real-world community implementation across the African continent.

By introducing structured technical trainings, robust research translation strategies, and dynamic science communication activities, this initiative ensures our scientific discoveries are accessible, actionable, and scalable.

Expanding Regional Horizons

A core pillar of this enhancement is the launch of the Regional Water Research Symposia, hosted in Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). These symposia will serve as critical anchor points, bringing together researchers, local stakeholders, and policymakers to address localized water safety challenges using advanced nanotechnology.

While our foundational network has deep roots in South Africa, the UK, and the DRC, this new funding explicitly extends our dissemination and impact directly into West Africa. By establishing fresh channels for knowledge exchange, we are building a sustainable infrastructure capable of supporting future, cross-continental scientific collaborations.
